So this part took a little longer than what we planned, but I believe we are there. You are now moved to the new server. Please use the contact links above to contact us at anytime you see an issue. A thread will also be opened to address this. Posts made after 10am today, December 14th, will not be available right away on the board. A slight misfortune; however, we are to a more stable platform. Thanks for understanding! TSVB Admins - -- --
The Stig: Tell us a bit about yourself and how you came across your spec V and/or decided upon purchasing one.
Specd_out: I am a 25 and purchased my car when I was 19. It was my first new car. I came across the Spec V when my parents where purchasing their Nissan Quest. I went for a test drive and was hooked. I loved the power it had and the torque. Being a 04 it had the normal Sentra front end which i liked. From day one i always wanted a sleeper. This car fit me perfectly I ended up purchasing my car 2 months later on 11/17/03 with 67 miles on the odo.
The Stig: Tell us about your favorite mod done to your car and why?
Specd_out: Being that I have always had the goal of having a powerful sleeper my two favorite mods would be the QTP cutout, and that my intercooler and all piping is flat black. The cutout allows me to keep the super sleeper look and sound, and when i want power i just flip a switch. QTP worked perfect for me because i wanted as much power as i could get but could not stand the sound and drone of a full 3". Now i have the best of both worlds
The Stig: Is there anything done to your vehicle that personalizes and makes your car yours and different from everyone else?
Specd_out: Yea the fact that its all go and no show. Some people love to announce that they are boosted with large shiny front mounts and piping loud bov's and loud exhausts. While there is nothing wrong with that, that's not the direction I wanted to go. I strive to make sure all my gauges, controllers, Turbo timer, and other boost accessories are hidden to where from either inside or outside nothing is visible at all. Nothing from the outside gives away that its boosted. Being that the I/C and piping are flat black everything is hidden.
The Stig: Tell us your favorite aspect about driving/owning a spec V.
Specd_out: Simply put because its the underdog of the sport compact scene. I like have something that people don't expect or respect and surprising the hell out of them.
The Stig: What are your future plans for the spec if any as far as modding goes?
Specd_out: Near future is 3" DP and midpipe, ARP head studs, Block Guard, Triple Layer head gasket, and bumping the boost from 6.5psi to around 12 psi. further down the road will be upgraded rods and pistons, and a new fuel management system.
The Stig: Tell us a little about your first car and its mods/etc.
Specd_out: It was a 89 Nissan Maxima SE. It was my grandmothers car and i bought it from her. It had 137k when I had it. I beat the hell out of that car but always took care of it mechanically. It never let me down I traded it for my Sentra when it had 167k on it. As far as mods it had a full Infinity kappa stereo system and a Intake. That car was what made me purchase a Nissan again. Biggest regret I have with that car was that I sold it.
The Stig: I do want to thank you for taking the time to have this interview with me, is there any shout out or thanks you would like to give?
Specd_out:Yea I would like to thank my wife first of all, in putting up with me and a hobby that took a lot of my time and money with out bickering too much, to those that did vote for me, and to the Spec V community on a whole. With out websites like this my car wouldn't be where it is now. As much as this car is a extension of my personal tastes I have used ideas from others and incorporated them into my car.
